Jane Barrows: Lyme Newport

For more than a decade, Jane Barrows, founder of the non-profit Lyme Newport, has been supporting Lyme patients and their caretakers. She ran a support group in the Newport RI area, advocated for the passage and compliance of RI’s law that provides better access to insurance coverage for patients, connected people to Lyme-literate practitioners, and provided one-on-one support to countless individuals.

Jane celebrated her 89th birthday in September 2024. She has retired and decided to dissolve her non-profit. NELAD is honored to have been chosen by Jane to carry on her passion and mission by transferring Lyme Newport’s assets and resources to NELAD.
